The Past is Present (Egypt , 2014)

This series explores abandoned mansions in central Cairo that were nationalized and turned into public institutions during the time Abdel Nasser was in office. These glorious times for Egypt have left traces buried throughout the city, which are now stagnant and covered in dust - like an era frozen in time. This project documents small details of these scenes of rubble as a reminder that this prosperous period of time is still present both physically and ideologically.
